What would designers do without pockets

I have had a lightbulb moment; nothing momentous. Just the realisation, after overdosing on glossy fashion magazines, that designers and stylists would be totally lost if they didn’t have strategically placed pockets for models to thrust their hands into in order to add shape or accent to a garment… The difficulty comes when we buy the jacket, the pair of trousers, or the coat and find it looks dull and a bit formless when it just sits there. Then we stick one hand in a pocket, pushing back the coat or jacket and, voila, we have a “wow” moment – it looks a lot more like it did in the picture/on the catwalk. The problem comes when real life intrudes and we have to walk around with one hand – or worse, two – thrust into our pockets to ensure we look fab and on-trend. We just have to make sure we don’t trip over or the result could be deeply undignified…
