Colour block and sequins to counter “Blue Monday”

Today is, according to all reports, Blue Monday. This, apparently, is the January day when we all feel “blue” because the weather is horrid, Christmas memories have faded and we are all skint because of the festive blow-out.
To counter any putative misery, I am working the vibrant, colour block trend, set to be huge for spring. It’s also a relatively easy one to work, since you can invest in a piece like a bright cardigan or sweater, and add it to a neutral, and if you want to add another colour, do it with a scarf or a belt. I bought into the colour story early in the winter, with a purple coat from #LK Bennett (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=2246&id=99908), and have accessorised it with a scarf in coral – one of the biggest “brights” for spring – which I bought in Vancouver from Canadian chain #Le Chateau, and a dark green bag from #Jigsaw. My skinny jeans are from #Zara, and ballerina flats from #LK Bennett (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=2246&id=99908).
Cyndy is wearing a great pair of leggings which are weighty enough not to look as if you have forgotten your skirt. They are called Leggings Trousers and are from Uniqlo http://shop.uniqlo.com/uk/goods/065299 , and Cyndy is wearing them with a cream cardigan with sequins from #Zara. Earrings and belt are both #vintage, shoes are also #LK Bennett (http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=2246&id=99908).

Are you suffering from “Blue Monday”, and if so how are you countering it? Let us know…
