Mary Portas is right but will retailers listen?

At last! #Mary Portas’ new programme #’Secret Shopper’ has come up with innovative ideas to improve the customer experience in High Street chains. I love the re-design of the fitting rooms at #Pilot in Braintree – especially the ability to tweet the clothes, and using point of sale in the fitting room area – a great improvement on having to join a long and time-consuming queue.

My big moans about fitting rooms have always been (a) poor lighting (who wants to try on clothes in an area that makes you look as if you should rush off to see a doctor?) (b) a dust-free space with a stool or chair for one’s own clothes (I don’t want to use my clothes as dusters for a fitting room floor) and (d) plenty of hooks on which to hang the garments for trying on.

Let’s hope other chains take notice – do you have any ideas for fitting rooms they could use?
